- Description: Provides child protection services to children and families in Shasta County. Provides a 24-hour child abuse hotline for reporting suspected abuse and neglect. Social workers investigate allegations. Cases that do not require investigation are referred to other services. Aims to help families create safe and stable homes, promote the well-being of children, and prevent abuse or neglect.Abuse can include physical abuse, neglect and self-neglect, mental suffering, and financial abuse. If one suspects child abuse, call Children's Services or fill out the Suspected Child Abuse Reporting form.
